Any JC meetng is held by those selected for fitting the qualifications set forth in 1 Timothy :3. It's noteworthy to me that these qualifications say little about "caring for others.' Rather, they encourage one who is reaching out to look good in the eyes of others. Sooo ... if anyone enters a JC meeting with a do not care attitude, at least all in attendance share the same mindset!

How do you know when someone LOVES you?
by The Berean ini suppose the english word "love" has many meanings according to individual needs and experience.
the questions are for me: if love is unilateral or an interactive relationship?
is unrequited love none-the-less rewarding?

I suppose the English word "love" has many meanings according to individual needs and experience. The questions are for me: if love is unilateral or an interactive relationship? Is unrequited love none-the-less rewarding? . Can one be "in love" while the object of their affection remains neutral or disinterested? Do we love because it makes us feel good about ourselves regardless of the feelings of others?

All Ex-Elders, Mr.Flipper going to Final MeetingW/Elders! I'll be careful!
by flipper inhello ex-elders, onthe wayout, snakes, and wilyloman, just to refresh about a month ago i told you all that the appeal committee had overturned the disfellowshipping decision by the original jc as the appeal committee got a hold of me by phone and told me the society gave them direction in this.
i have since explained the situation to my witness mom and dad, 80 &82, they are good with it.
i am taking copies of the counsel you ex elders gave to me to be careful about what i say at this "alleged encouragement" meeting and promise you this, i'll watch my words carefully when they ask me questions.

Dear Flipper:
Now that you are past that, does this particular meeting and interchange with the elders put you any nearer closure or do you imagine there may be more such necessary discussions or appeals?

Do you know the real purpose of the Society?
by compound complex inthe following notes on fred franz's conducting of the morning bible discussion [17 november 1979] were taken by a bethelite and later given to ray franz:.
some persons are now talking about reading the bible, that we should read "just the bible.
" well, that's what christendom's churches have been telling the people to do for centuries and look at the mess that's resulted.

The purpose of the WBTS is and always has been to form an independent nation of constituents who are given boundries, a sense of superiority, as well as recognition ... as a place in the spotlight for those who are unable to compete or otherwise contribute to the modern world.

Being one of Jehovah's Witnesses is simply a "phase" that the majority of members pass thru and move on from . The number of Memorial attendees compared to active publishers give evidence that more folks used to be than are ...

Bitchy women at work..."hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!" Why girls?
by Witness 007 inso at work we had an middle eastern family get alittle upset due to a long wait, i think their culture tends to raise their voice a bit, their child was sick and they were worried, waiting for medicine.
while calming them down, one of the staff ladies is jumping in from behind under-cutting my calming speech with her interference....i asked her to back off.. well the women i work with did not like me "reasoning" with them witness style, oh no!
they wanted me to throw the mum, dad, child, mother in-law, out on their ass.

Here's my problem.
Whenever issues arise on this board which might appear sexist, men seem willing to discuss their biased point of view based on certain experiences, while women seem to demand that no one has the right for such points of view to be aired and therefore they attempt to stifle such a discussion. Why?

I consider many JWs as "mental midgets."
When I was young I was called "Porky" by peers because of my size. Now that I'm grown does this mean I'm like all men, a "pig"?

Do you remember SPECIFIC CONVERSATIONS with householders from the field ministry?
by BonaFide ini have a few that i remember that were interesting.
of course, those that i supposedly helped.. but i also remember one man at an apartment.
i started to talk about the universe, and how the planets are aligned perfectly, and the earth is the perfect distance from the sun to support life.

I was working in a nice neighborhood with a really good Brother. We knocked on a door and a teary-reyed lady answered. After we identified ourselves as Jehovah's Witnesses, she began an emotional expression of all that was wrong in her life. Along the way she related that all morning had been spent kneeled in prayer looking for help. I looked at her and calmly said: "that is why we have come"! Her eyes almost popped out of their sockets as she screamed: "Jehovah's Witnesses ... No, No, No"! Immediaately she slammed the door, leaving us on the porch giggling.
